How can I help?
If you have wondered how you can get involved with Norwich Community Land here are a some suggestions.
Membership
You are a member just by reading our emails, attending our events and making suggestions as to what you would like to happen.
Paying Member
You can support our work financially by making payments. You can make one off payments or you may decide to help on a regular basis. Please note we are not a charity, also please make sure that you can afford whatever amount you choose. We do not want to put people under more stress in this time of economic crisis. Please get in touch with us at info@norwichclt.org.uk for further details.
In Person Equity
You might know this better as volunteering however its a bit more formal than that. We use a system that is well established in Social Enterprises.
We take the number of hours donated, place a monetary value on it and it tells what the time is worth.
For our purposes we benchmark to Summa Wholefoods rates of pay which is currently £17.44 per hr and it is reviewed annually.
Hence cash in the bank plus In Person Equity gives us a holistic picture of our social capital.
Again if you want to know more then please get in touch at info@norwich.org.uk

Next Meet Up
Our next in person meet up is on Saturday 11th November , 10-12 noon. It is at Rosebery Road Methodist Church Church Hall. A chance to swap ideas, catch up and discuss next moves. Its all very informal, definately not a business meeting!
Application for Listing Angel Road School as an Assett of Community Value.
We submitted the application for the listing at the end of August. On 2nd October we recieved an acknowledgement that it had been recieved. We are still waiting on the decision. The Norwich City Council website shows no applications listed after August 2023.
Using The Community Ownership Fund
On the advice of the National Community Land Trust Network we are exploring the possiblty of using this fund as a means of purchasing the site. An Initial Expression of Interest has met with a positive response.
We finally were able to identify the officer at County Hall who has responsiblty for the site and recieved the following response :ARSChool norfcc oct202
A community garden for Angel Road ?
As you will remember from the work that we did in the summer the greatest desire was for some kind of Community managed Green Space. The most obvious place is the green spaces around the school. Whilst we continue to explore that possiblity we are supporting the creation of a small community gardening group. If you are interested in that( is it possible to garden without one space? etc) then please get in touch.
